Job Description

Role Description

RTV is seeking a strategic, collaborative, and impact-driven Change Manager to lead the implementation of critical system and process changes across the organization. This role will play a central part in advancing RTV’s operational capabilities through implementation projects such as HRIS, Office 365, and other cross-functional initiatives that support our mission to end ultra-poverty.

Reporting to the Chief of Staff, the Change Manager will work closely with internal teams, external vendors, and stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery of projects—on time, within budget, and with strong user adoption. You will champion both the technical and human sides of change, ensuring RTV is prepared for, engaged in, and supported throughout transformations that enhance our ability to serve communities more effectively.

Key Responsibilities

Change Management (40%)

  • Design and execute stakeholder engagement and change readiness plans
  • Lead local governance and decision-making and change readiness plans
  • Facilitate change impact assessments and interventions to support adoption
  • Plan and support communications and training activities across RTV teams
  • Build and lead internal change champions to embed change throughout the organization
  • Monitor change progress, gather feedback, and make adjustments as needed
  • Ensure change strategies are inclusive and considerate of cross-cultural and remote team dynamics
  • Develop toolkits and templates to enable scalable and repeatable change interventions

Project Management (40%)

  • Lead planning, execution, and monitoring of systems projects (e.g., FMS, HRIS) from start to finish
  • Create and manage detailed project plans, timelines, and stage-gate reviews
  • Coordinate across teams to align on goals, interdependencies, and delivery milestones
  • Represent project needs and progress in internal governance and leadership forums
  • Oversee system development, data migration, testing, training, and changeover planning
  • Manage project documentation, resources, and risks; ensure clarity on roles and responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues, ensuring continuity and accountability
  • Collaborate with key internal leads and external partners to ensure seamless implementation
  • Apply agile methodologies and adaptive project management techniques to drive delivery efficiency
  • Establish project KPIs and dashboards to track progress and surface issues early

Business Process Optimization (20%)

  • Support design and implementation of new or improved operational processes
  • Align systems changes with RTV’s broader process optimization and service delivery goals
  • Collaborate with teams to define requirements, streamline workflows, and increase efficiency
  • Promote sustainable practices by embedding continuous improvement into project outcomes
  • Conduct current-to-future state analysis to surface bottlenecks and efficiency gaps
  • Lead after-action reviews and capture lessons learned for institutional knowledge sharing

Required Skills and Expertise

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Organizational Development, International Development, or a related field
  • Preferred: Project Management certification (PMP, PRINCE2) or Change Management certification (Prosci, ACMP)
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in project management, change management, or business transformation
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional projects in a fast-paced, mission-driven organization
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Ability to manage complex timelines, priorities, and interdependencies
  • Experience with systems implementation (FMS, HRIS, Office365, etc.) preferred
  • Experience preparing and managing project documentation, risk logs, and communications plans
  • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail and outcomes
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and energized by complex challenges
  • Ability to work independently while being a collaborative team player
  • Excellent facilitation and workshop delivery skills to guide teams through change journeys
  • Strong analytical capabilities, including process mapping and data synthesis
  • Commitment to the mission and values of Raising The Village
  • Familiarity with nonprofit or international development contexts is an asset
  • Experience in East Africa or working with global teams is an asset
