Job Title: Communications Officer – (1 Vacancy)
Reports To: Senior Communications Officer
Job Purpose:
Support the development and execution of strategic internal and external communication programs that align, engage and inform key audiences, supporting the company’s vision, culture, and business objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the implementation of the annual communications and stakeholder engagement plan.
- Support internal communications initiatives through the development of employee newsletters, intranet content, staff notices, leadership messages, and engagement campaigns.
- Manage and regularly update content on the corporate website and intranet, ensuring information is accurate, timely, relevant, and aligned with corporate messaging.
- Develop, package, and disseminate communication content across internal communication platforms, including email, WhatsApp, newsletters, and other employee engagement channels.
- Support management of the Company’s social media platforms through content creation, scheduling, monitoring, audience engagement, and reporting.
- Monitor media coverage and online conversations relating to the Company and prepare regular media monitoring and analysis reports.
- Support media engagement activities including press conferences, media briefings, interviews, field visits, and other media relations initiatives.
- Support photography, videography, and multimedia content development for corporate communication initiatives.
- Maintain an organized database of communication materials, photographs, videos, publications, and other communication.
- Measure and report on the performance of communication activities and digital communication channels.
- Any other duties that might be assigned to you.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (Hons) in either Communications, Journalism, Public Affairs, International Relations, Languages and Linguistics, Information Management Systems, or any other relevant degree.
- Minimum four (4) years of relevant experience in Corporate Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Media, Digital Communications, Marketing Communications, Broadcasting, or a related field.
- A recognized professional Communications Certification or postgraduate training is an added advantage.
- Membership of relevant or related nationally recognized professional bodies is an added advantage.
- Demonstrated experience managing social media content and/or digital media channels is essential.
