Job Description
Job Title: CRVPF Finance and Accounts Officer
Organization: Children’s Rights and Violence Prevention Fund (CRVPF)
Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda
Reports to: CRVPF Regional Finance & Grant Coordinator
1. About Children’s Rights and Violence Prevention Fund (CRVPF):
Children’s Rights and Violence Prevention Fund (CRVPF) is a child rights and social justice
regional intermediary organization based in Uganda with a mission to provide grants and
capacity development support to community organizations operating in four countries in East
Africa: Uganda, Tanzania, Ethiopia, and Kenya. CRVPF supports community institutions that
work with children, adolescent girls, boys, and their families, communities, and schools to
advance the rights and prevent violence, sexual abuse, and sexual exploitation of children. To
foster a protective and nurturing environment for healthy child development. CRVPF uses a
cluster partnership model, the model encourages 2-4 community organizations and local NGOs
to work together in a cluster partnership using one grant to address children’s and adolescents
needs in a particular geographic area.
CRVPF has established three major grant-making initiatives over the past ten years: Prevention
of Violence against Children and Young people (PVAC), Adolescent Girls Power Program
(AGPP) and Empower Youth through Data AND Community Development (EYDCD).
2.0 Overall objective and purpose
The overall objective of the CRVPF Finance and Accounts Officer is to provide daily
transactions posting into QuickBooks and support the donor financial reporting process for
CRVPF. The role will ensure that all transactions are posted and reconciled in the QuickBooks
accounting software system and accurate donor reports are submitted on time.
2.1 Specific Roles
1. Internal Finance & Administration
a. Transaction Processing:
• Support Posting daily transactions in accounting systems (QuickBooks Online)
• Ensure that pre-payments are accurately recorded
• Process invoices and handle reimbursements.
• Assist accounts with monthly reconciliations
b. Reporting, Audit and Budget Support
• Assist in preparing financial reports, balance sheets, income statements, and budget
forecasts to support decision- making
• Support annual audits by preparing schedules and required documentation.
• Participate in proposal and budget reviews to ensure realistic, compliant, and
program-aligned budgeting.
c. Procurement and Administration
• Participate in procurement processes and monthly stock verification exercises.
• Ensure adherence to internal financial controls and organizational policies.
• Maintain and verify the Organisational Asset Register
• Support the filing process for the Vouchers and relevant documentation.
II. Grants Management & Donor Reporting
• Support the Grants Management Process and Donor Financial Reporting specifically
for the Tides Foundation Program, Hilton Foundation and White Family Fund.
II. Compliance and Accuracy
• Identify financial risks, inconsistencies, or non-compliance issues and recommend
corrective actions.
• Conduct occasional field visits to verify financial records and program expenditure as
approved.
• Ensure payments, taxes, insurance and other financial obligations are accurate and
compliant with company policies.
III. Communication
• Respond to queries from service providers, internal teams regarding invoices,
payments and financial records
IV. Required Skills and Qualifications
• Education Background: Holds a Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance,
Commerce or related field.
A Recognised professional accounting qualification: CPA, ACCA or CIMA
completed or final level.
• Work Experience: Over 7 – 10 Years relevant Experience. At 5 Years in an
international NGO.
Preferred: Experience managing large donor awards, grant finance and accounting.
• Technical Specialized Skills and Knowledge: Proficiency in accounting software
specifically QuickBooks online software.
Professional proficiency in MS Office Suite.
• Attention to Detail: High degree of accuracy in recording and reconciling financial
information.
• Organisational and Communications Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks,
maintain records systematically and communicate effectively with colleagues, partner
and vendors.
• Integrity and confidentiality: Handle sensitive financial information responsibly and
respectfully.
• Work Environment: Typically, office-based, working closely with the Regional
Finance and Grants Coordinator, accountants, finance officers and administrative
staff. Available to travel to areas where CRVPF works.
3. Other
