Job Description

Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS)

UNBS is a Government Agency responsible for Standardization, Quality Assurance, Metrology, and Laboratory Testing (SQMT), with the objective of promoting fair trade and protecting consumers and the environment against harmful commodities.

UNBS invites suitably qualified Ugandans to apply for the following positions:

3. Driver

Reports To: Transport Officer

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive UNBS vehicles safely.
  • Ensure vehicles are in good running condition.
  • Maintain cleanliness and service schedules.
  • Keep vehicle records and service cards.
  • Maintain log sheets and fuel accountability.
  • Report mechanical faults, accidents, or theft immediately.
  • Perform any other duties assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • A-Level Certificate.
  • Defensive Driving Certificate.
  • Valid driving permit with at least two classes among B, C1, and/or D1.
  • Certificate in motor vehicle maintenance is an added advantage.
  • At least five (5) years’ driving experience with a clean record.
  • High integrity and ethics.
  • Good communication, teamwork, and time management skills.
  • Age: Not above 35 years.
