Job Description

To plan, coordinate and supervise technical activities in the Area or Branch to ensure smooth operations while maintaining a motivated team of committed technical staff in order to achieve the Area / branch targets at the least cost

Requirements

  • • Bachelor’s degree in Building & Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering, Water Engineering, Environmental Engineering OR any other Relevant Degree from a recognized University/Institution
  • Computer skills in MS-Word, MS-Excel, MS-Project and internet applications
  • • This is a field based job and the candidate will be required to move extensively in the field
  • • Must be able to work for long hours in the field and can be called upon at any time and at odd hours to respond to field tasks
  • • Must be able to ride a motorcycle in the field
  • • Self-drive and resilience and able to work with minimum supervision
  • • Have enthusiasm and positive energy
  • • Ability to build and sustain working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • • Demonstrated ability to work with a team of multi-disciplinary professionals
  • • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

Responsibilities

  • Ensures reliable water supply and distribution of water to NWSC customers.
  • Ensures that all unreported and hidden leakages in the network are discovered and repaired.
  • Monitor workmanship and accountability of funds for new connection trenching, proper use and accountability of materials, verification of capital works, assets renewal and replacement
  • Coordinates and monitors the activities of leak repairs on the network in order to minimize water losses
  • Ensures that customer complaints of technical nature are attended to within hours and to the customer’s satisfaction
  • Ensure network expansion and extension are implemented to achieve water for all to the customers
  • Implement new connection policy to serve all customers and increase on customer connections
  • Implement Area Specific Strategies for the Management of Non-Revenue Water
  • Support and ensure set technical targets are achieved within the set period
  • Respond to audit queries and come up with measures to reduce them
  • Investigates all malpractices on water network and ensures that all water connection conform to the procedures and standard laid down
  • Prepares relevant reports on routine basis regarding network activities, plans and manages the performance and development of staff under his/her supervision so as to improve their productivity
  • Any other duties, which may be assigned from time to time
