HALL ATTENDANT

Job Detail

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To provide a clean environment within the hall premises and lecture rooms.

Responsibilities

KEY FUNCTIONS

a) To clean the hall premises including toilets, corridors, laundries, verandahs, bathrooms and walls.

b) To empty all dustbins every day.

c) To take care of the University property used every day.

d) To report all areas in the halls and/or lecture rooms that require repair/maintenance to the custodian duty.

e) To assist the Chief Custodian and Custodian when they are checking rooms at the end of the semester or during the vacation.

f) To sweep, wash and scrub students’ rooms and windows during the holidays.

g) To help the Chief Custodian and Custodians when they are making arrangements for accommodating guests.

h) To wash and iron the beddings of the guests during the vacation.

i) To act as messenger for the Warden, Chief Custodian and Custodians.

j) To perform any other duties assigned by the Custodians, Chief Custodian or Warden.

KEY OUTPUTS

a) Hall premises cleaned.

b) Dust bins emptied

c) University property taken care of

d) Report on areas that require repairs/maintenance made

e) Rooms checked during vacation.

f) Students’ rooms cleaned.

g) Arrangements for accommodation of guests made.

h) Errands made.

Requirements

PERSON SPECIFICATION

“O” level Certificate and must not be above 55 years old at the time of application.
