Job Description
Inventory Management Officer
Salary Scale: PU6.2
Reports to: Senior Inventory Management Officer
No. of Vacancies: One (1)

- Assistant Inventory Management Officer

Job Purpose
To supervise and manage the Institute inventory/stores function in accordance with existing policies.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Participates in the development, implementation and review of inventory management policies and guidelines.
- Plans, organizes, directs, manages and evaluates the inventory management activities and budgets of the Institute.
- Monitors inventory levels and inventory movement using manual or computerized inventory systems.
- Reviews compiled inventory reports.
- Liaises with other departments to coordinate inventory management activities.
- Develops key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of the inventory management operations.
- Conducts investigation into inventory management incidents in order to verify and resolve complaints.
- Supervises, mentors and appraises staff.
Person Specifications
Qualifications
- An Honours Bachelor’s degree in either Procurement, Purchasing or Logistics and Supply Chain Management from a recognized institution; OR Full Professional qualification in Procurement and supply chain management such as MCIPS (Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply) or CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) or CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management).
Working Experience
- Two (2) years working experience as Assistant Inventory Management Officer from a recognised organisation.

- Certified copies of academic transcripts and certificates.
- Equated certificates from the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) for all foreign academic qualifications.
- A copy of the National Identity Card (NIN).
- Copies of previous appointment letters.
- Serving officers must attach copies of their current payslips.
Applicants should clearly indicate “Application for the Post of ……………” on the envelope.
Applications that are incorrectly addressed or do not include the required documents will not be considered.
Additional Information
- Age Limit: Applicants should be 45 years or below at the time of application, except for the position of Dean of Students, where the maximum age is 55 years.
- Tenure of Appointment: Positions on Salary Scales PU1–PU3 are offered on a contract basis. Positions on Salary Scales PU4–PU15 are permanent, subject to successful completion of a six-month probationary period.
