Quality Assurance & Compliance Officer

Role Overview
You will own product quality at Esonga, from supplier evaluation and incoming inspection to storage, complaints and compliance records, and report to the CEO every month.
Requirements
Education
- Degree or diploma in Quality Management, Industrial Chemistry, Food Science, Pharmacy, Public Health or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years in QA/QC for FMCG, manufacturing, pharmaceutical or health products.
Standards
- Working knowledge of UNBS certification and product standards.
- ISO 9001 an advantage.
Records
- Accurate with inspection checklists, batch records and Excel reports.
Integrity
- Independent and firm with suppliers.
- No conflict of interest.
- Based in or near Jinja City.
About Esonga
Esonga Menstrual Care is a Ugandan female health and hygiene enterprise. We run the Esonga Hygiene Kiosk and a mobile hygiene kiosk, supply pads, reusable pads, menstrual cups and dignity kits, and serve schools and communities across Eastern Uganda.
Position Opening
As we prequalify UNBS-certified suppliers and grow school and partner orders, we need a firm, detail-minded officer to make sure every product we sell is safe, genuine and certified.
Key Responsibilities
Supplier Quality
- Evaluate supplier applications and UNBS certificates.
- Supplier site visits and sample checks.
- Supplier quality scorecards.
Product Inspection
- Inspect and sample every incoming delivery.
- Check batch, expiry, labels and packaging.
- Hold and reject non-conforming stock.
Storage & Handling
- Hygiene standards for store and kiosks.
- First-expiry, first-out stock rotation.
- Quality checks on dignity kit packing.
Complaints & Compliance
- Investigate product complaints and recalls.
- Keep certificates and licences current.
- Monthly quality report to the CEO.
