Job Description

Job Title: Senior Nutritionist – Center for Food & Adequate Living Rights (CEFROHT)
Reports To

Head of Advocacy, Campaigns, and Partnerships Program

Job Purpose

To support the technical mainstreaming of nutrition across all CEFROHT domain areas, including Right to Adequate Food, Human Capital Development, Food Safety, Food Sovereignty, Nutrition and Public Health, Food Security and Climate Change, and other livelihood rights, through nutrition research, policy advocacy, and program implementation.

Scope
  • Support program and project implementation and advance evidence-based policy advocacy
  • Promote a human rights-based approach to food, nutrition, and health
  • Contribute to creating an enabling food policy environment that promotes the right to adequate food and nutrition
  • Support efforts addressing diet-related non-communicable diseases and malnutrition
  • Integrate research, advocacy, and program implementation to influence policy and practice
  • Support stakeholder engagement, community interventions, and public awareness
  • Contribute to partnerships, capacity building, and multidisciplinary collaboration
Key Result Areas
  • Conduct and support research on nutrition, public health, and food systems
  • Provide technical expertise in design, implementation, and evaluation of nutrition programs
  • Support development and analysis of nutrition and food system policies, laws, and strategies
  • Implement advocacy initiatives on nutrition issues and non-communicable diseases
  • Develop policy briefs, research reports, and advocacy materials
  • Coordinate and oversee implementation of nutrition-related projects
  • Engage stakeholders including government, CSOs, academia, and development partners
  • Support integration of nutrition into food policy, law, and climate programs
  • Contribute to proposal development, fundraising, and resource mobilization
  • Provide technical support in monitoring, evaluation, and learning
  • Facilitate capacity building, training, and community engagement
  • Support media engagement and public communication
  • Represent the organization in national, regional, and international forums

Education
  • Master’s degree in Nutrition or Public Health Nutrition
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition
  • Dieticians are encouraged to apply
Experience
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in nutrition, public health, research, and policy advocacy
  • Experience in designing and implementing nutrition programs and interventions
  • Strong background in research, data analysis, and technical writing
  • Experience in human rights-based programming is an added advantage
