Role Summary
The Specialist Paediatrician will provide medical care to infants, children, and adolescents. This role focuses on diagnosing acute and chronic childhood illnesses, monitoring growth and development, and delivering preventative child health services.
Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and treat acute, chronic, and infectious childhood illnesses.
  • Conduct regular developmental milestones and growth assessments.
  • Administer and manage childhood immunization and vaccination schedules.
  • Educate parents and guardians on nutrition, child safety, hygiene, and disease prevention.
  • Provide immediate emergency pediatric stabilization and care when required.
  • Maintain meticulous electronic medical records (EMR) for pediatric patients.

Minimum Requirements
  • Education: Master of Medicine (MMed) in Paediatrics and Child Health from a recognized institution.
  • Licensure: Active registration and valid practicing license from the Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners Council (UMDPC).
  • Experience: Proven experience in pediatric care within a busy medical center.
