Job Description

About the Role

We are looking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Tax Manager to oversee all aspects of tax compliance and planning for our operations. The successful candidate will ensure full compliance with tax regulations while identifying tax-saving opportunities and supporting strategic financial decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation and submission of all statutory tax returns (VAT, PAYE, Withholding Tax, Corporate Tax, etc.).
  • Manage tax audits and resolve disputes or queries from the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA).
  • Provide tax advisory support to management on transactions, new projects, and business initiatives.
  • Monitor changes in tax laws and assess their impact on the business.
  • Liaise with external tax consultants, auditors, and URA as needed.
  • Maintain proper tax records and documentation for audit readiness.
  • Train and supervise junior finance staff on tax compliance matters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional qualifications: ACCA or CPA.
  • 3–5 years of post-qualification experience.
  • Experience working with URA and KCCA.
  • Strong knowledge of all tax responsibilities, including but not limited to: VAT, PAYE, WHT, LST, and Customs.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
