Job Description

RamcoGas Uganda is seeking a Trainee LPG Gas Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will undergo comprehensive training to become a proficient Gas Technician responsible for installing, delivering, repairing, and maintaining LP gas appliances and equipment for residential and commercial customers. 


Key Responsibilities

1. Installation of Bulk Storage Tanks

  • Install bulk storage tanks for systems at residential and commercial customer location   

  • Ensure compliance with industry, state, and local regulations, as well as the Company’s safety standar   

2. Appliance Installation and Maintenance

  • Deliver, repair, install, and maintain a variety of LPG appliances and equipment at customer locations, including furnaces, ranges, water heaters, generators, et   

  • Educate customers on the proper operation, maintenance, and safety of appliances and gas equipme   

3. Customer Interaction

  • Confer with customers to determine the preferred location of bulk storage tanks and equipmen   

  • Provide excellent customer service and promote the use of LP gas by suggesting additional uses and highlighting the quality, service, and dependability of Company products   

4. Documentation and Reporting

  • Prepare work orders, invoices, and reports of work performed and gas deliveries.  

  • Make detailed checks of installations, including gas and pressure checks, to ensure proper operations of Company’s and customer’s equipment.  

5. Gas Piping Systems

  • Install and maintain gas piping systems, including underground and above-ground gas lines, inside piping, regulators, meters, and liquid dispensing systems.  

6. Equipment Maintenance

  • Maintain, paint, and repair Company-owned equipment, such as tanks, cylinders, valves, etc.  

  • Operate company vehicles in a safe and efficient manner at all times.  

7. Availability

  • Be available for night, weekend, and holiday after-hour calls on a rotating basis.  

8. Other Duties

  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.  


Qualification

  • High school diploma or equivalent.  

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in gas systems.  

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.  

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.  

  • Willingness to undergo comprehensive training   

  • Valid Rider’s license.
