About the Organisation

Uganda Heart Institute Website

Uganda Heart Institute was established by the Uganda Heart Institute Act 2016 as an autonomous government entity mandated to undertake and coordinate the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular disease in Uganda.

The Institute intends to recruit competent individuals in various departments to strengthen its human resource capacity and enhance service delivery.

Job Title: Assistant Records Officer

Salary Scale: UHI 5LWR
Number of Posts: Two (2)
Reports to: Records Officer

Job Purpose

To receive, keep, and provide records according to established standards and procedures.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Organize and describe records.
  • Receive, sort, open, and dispatch mail.
  • File correspondences.
  • Transfer semi-current records to records centres.
  • Forward files for action.
  • Monitor file movement.
  • Maintain a Bring Up (BU) diary.
  • Carry out file census activities.
  • Weed files.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Records and Archives Management or Library and Information Science from a recognized institution.
