About the Organisation
Uganda Heart Institute Website
Uganda Heart Institute was established by the Uganda Heart Institute Act 2016 as an autonomous government entity mandated to undertake and coordinate the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular disease in Uganda.
The Institute intends to recruit competent individuals in various departments to strengthen its human resource capacity and enhance service delivery.
Job Title: Physiotherapist
Salary Scale: UHI 4 MED-2
Number of Posts: One (1)
Reports to: Senior Cardio-respiratory Physiotherapist
Job Purpose
To improve patients’ cardiovascular health, functional capacity, and quality of life through tailored exercise programs, rehabilitation, and education.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive, safe, and quality physiotherapy services to patients.
- Participate in health promotion activities.
- Evaluate and refer patients for cardio-respiratory physiotherapy services.
- Participate in research activities and health data collection.
- Participate in Continuing Professional Development programmes.
- Adhere to the Professional Code of Conduct and Ethics.
- Maintain a safe and professional work environment for cardio-respiratory physiotherapy services.
- Collect and maintain physiotherapy service records and information.
- Assist in supervising undergraduate and diploma-level students.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Physiotherapy or its equivalent from a recognized University/Institution.
- Must be registered with the Allied Health Professionals Council.
Experience
- Two (2) years of working experience as a Physiotherapist.
