About the Organisation
Uganda Heart Institute Website
Uganda Heart Institute was established by the Uganda Heart Institute Act 2016 as an autonomous government entity mandated to undertake and coordinate the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular disease in Uganda.
The Institute intends to recruit competent individuals in various departments to strengthen its human resource capacity and enhance service delivery.
Job Title: Assistant Engineering Officer (Electrical)
Salary Scale: UHI 5SC
Number of Posts: One (1)
Reports to: Civil Engineer
Job Purpose
To maintain and repair electrical facilities to ensure optimal functioning, safety, and smooth operation of hospital electrical installations.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, diagnose, and resolve faults in electrical systems and equipment.
- Perform routine inspections and repairs on electrical systems and machinery.
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and resolve technical issues.
- Inspect new electrical installations and test systems for compliance with standards.
- Maintain accurate maintenance and inspection records.
- Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Coordinate maintenance activities with departments and staff.
- Participate in training programs for equipment users and technicians.
- Supervise junior technicians and outsourced service providers while verifying quality of electrical work.
Qualifications
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related field from a recognized institution.
Experience
- Experience in civil, electrical, or mechanical engineering with ability to operate electrical hand tools and work at heights is an added advantage.
