About the Organisation
Uganda Heart Institute Website
Uganda Heart Institute was established by the Uganda Heart Institute Act 2016 as an autonomous government entity mandated to undertake and coordinate the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular disease in Uganda.
The Institute intends to recruit competent individuals in various departments to strengthen its human resource capacity and enhance service delivery.
Job Title: Domestic Assistant – Laundry
Salary Scale: UHI 7LWR
Reports to: House Keeper (Laundry)
Job Purpose
To perform routine laundry tasks for proper cleaning and maintenance of linens, garments, and laundry equipment in support of healthcare services.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Sort, wash, dry, and fold linens and garments according to protocols.
- Iron and organize clean laundry for distribution.
- Follow infection prevention and control measures during laundry operations.
- Report damaged or missing items to the House Keeper.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the laundry facility and equipment.
- Ensure safe handling and use of laundry chemicals and equipment.
- Support inventory management by reporting shortages of supplies.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications
- Uganda Certificate of Education (O’ Level Certificate).
- Certificate in Housekeeping, Hospitality, or related field is an added advantage.
Experience
- Experience in housekeeping, cleaning, infection prevention, or laundry is an added advantage.
