Job Description

Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill the under listed vacant posts that exist in the service of Mubende District Local Government and Mubende Municipal Council.

Applications should be submitted in triplicate on PSC form 3 (Revised 2008) to the SECRETARY DISTRICT SERVICE COMMISSION P.O.BOX 93, MUBENDE not later than 8th June, 2026.

Application forms are obtainable from Public Service Commission Offices or any office of the District Service Commission country wide and must be filled in the Applicants own hand writing with three (3) current passport size photographs attached. Serving officers should route their applications through their Heads of Department who should be informed of the closing date to avoid delay.

Certified copies of Academic documents, Registration Certificate and Practicing License where applicable, National Identity Card and any other relevant documents must accompany the application forms. Those who would have not heard from the Commission at the end of the exercise should consider themselves unsuccessful.

Job Purpose

To control animal diseases, treat sick animals, and carry out better animal production activities.

Key Outputs
  • Occurrence and spread of animal diseases controlled.
  • Sick animals treated and animal owners advised on handling sick animals.
  • Animal owners trained and guided for better animal production.
  • Livestock markets and holding grounds inspected.
  • Processors and handlers of food and by-products of animal origin inspected and advised.
  • Farmers guided in pasture management, structure construction, and farm management.
Key Functions
  • Monitoring and controlling the occurrence and spread of animal diseases.
  • Treating sick animals and advising animal owners on handling sick animals.
  • Training and guiding animal owners for better animal production.
  • Inspecting livestock markets and holding grounds.
  • Inspecting and advising processors and handlers of animal food and by-products.
  • Guiding farmers in pasture management, farm structures, record keeping, and farm management.

Qualifications
  • Should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary Medicine from a recognized University/Institution.
