Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill the under listed vacant posts that exist in the service of Mayuge District Local Government

Applications should be submitted in Triplicate on PSC 3(Revised 2008) to the Secretary District Service Commission P.O Box 1317 MAYUGE not later than four weeks from the date of this advertisement. Application forms can be obtained from Public Service Commission Office 2nd floor Farmers’ House, parliamentary Avenue Kampala and/ or any of the District Service Commission Offices and must be filled in the applicant’s own handwriting with three (3) passport size photographs attached.

Serving officers should route their applications through their supervisors who should be informed of the closing date to avoid any unnecessary delay.

Responsible for: Assistant Community Development Officer

Job Purpose

To facilitate and empower communities for community development.

Key Outputs
  • Development programmes at the community level planned and budgeted for.
  • Supervising staff that is involved in uplifting the social and economic welfare of local communities.
  • Organized local communities to effectively participate in development initiatives.
  • Communities sensitized on gender issues, social rights, roles and obligations.
  • Community development programmes and projects monitored, evaluated and reported on.
  • Equal participation of all communities in development programmes promoted.
  • Creation and growth of functional groups for the improved welfare of the population promoted.
  • Communities trained in literacy programmes and income generating activities.
  • Advice provided on effective mobilization of the community for development.
  • Communities sensitized on adhering to existing legislation on gender and child rights.

  • Planning and budgeting for development programmes at the community level.
  • Supervising staff that is involved in uplifting the social and economic welfare of local communities.

Person Specifications
Qualifications
  • An Honors Degree in Development Studies, Arts, Social Sciences, Social Work and Social Administration or Management Science from a recognized University or Institution.
