RamcoGas (RAMCO Gas) is a pioneer and leading importer, distributor, and supplier of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) in Uganda. Founded in 1996 and fully launching operations in 1999, the privately held oil and gas company was established to provide cleaner alternative energy solutions to domestic, commercial, and industrial consumers. The enterprise successfully competes against major multinational petroleum corporations by focusing entirely on LPG as its core business rather than a secondary byproduct. [
The enterprise is historically celebrated for transforming the local energy market as the very first company to introduce a “door-to-door” delivery service for LPG in Uganda. This model relies on a robust network of branch offices, localized retail networks, and specialized delivery trucks that bridge accessibility gaps for urban and rural households. Its corporate logistics and industrial storage operations are managed out of Ramco House on Plot 735, Block 111 in Namanve (Kiwanga), with core administrative teams operating out of its secondary site at 60 Ntinda Road in Kampala. 
The primary commercial product line of RamcoGas features an array of standardized, safety-certified gas cylinders tailored to different economic demographics. Its portfolio includes small domestic cylinders (such as 6kg variations), medium-sized 18kg refill cylinders, and large-capacity 45kg tanks engineered specifically to power commercial restaurant kitchens and industrial manufacturing facilities. To ensure widespread national market penetration, the company manages active physical hubs across multiple large urban zones, including Kampala, Entebbe, Mukono, Jinja, and Mbarara. 
Beyond single-cylinder retail sales, the social enterprise plays a major role in climate action and health advocacy by driving large-scale Coal-to-LPG fuel conversions. By designing, installing, and servicing complex commercial gas piping systems for remote boarding schools, hospitals, and hotels, the firm systematically transitions institutions away from destructive biomass and charcoal reliance. Backed by an automated cylinder tracking system, centralized call centers, and a growing team of local energy specialists, RamcoGas continues to expand its digital supply chains to deliver safe, eco-friendly cooking fuel nationwide.
