 About the Role

 Reporting to the General Manager- Business Development, the Business Development Officer – Learning & Religious Institutions role will identify, develop and manage business opportunities within the education and religious sectors, ensuring sustainable revenue growth, client satisfaction, long-revenue growth, and long-term partnerships. The officer will act as the key relationship link between the company and schools, universities, churches, mosques, and other faith-based institutions.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Market Development & Partner Engagement

  • Identify and cultivate new business opportunities with schools, churches, and related organizations.
  • Initiate and support discussions with potential institutional partners to unlock collaborative opportunities.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to customize solutions that fit partner needs.
  • Promoting CIC products to maximize sector penetration.

Client Relationship Management

  • Handling Customer complaints, addressing inquires and ensuring timely resolution.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with existing and potential clients to ensure customer retention and get new business.
  • Support in preparing and presenting client proposals, presentations and service demonstrations.
  • Conduct regular client meetings, check-ins and follow ups to understand client needs and expectations are met.

Client Training & Product Awareness

  • Conduct product training for new and existing clients
  • Educate clients on product features, Usage, and value to maximize adoption and satisfaction Client Relationship Management
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of company products, industry trends and competitor offerings.
  • Provide post-training support and follow-up to address client questions or challenges.
  • Promote CIC brand through client engagement and sensitization and sharing promotional materials.

Stakeholder & Intermediary Engagement

  • Engage and support intermediaries and partners to drive business acquisition and retention.
  • Represent CIC at sector forums, conferences, exhibitions, and stakeholder engagements.
  • Gather market intelligence and customer insights to identify business opportunities.
  • Develop strategic partnerships with educational and faith-based networks to expand market reach.
  • Support client retention through regular engagement and timely issue resolution.
  • Deliver professional, customer-centric, and high-quality service to all stakeholders.

Business Development & Revenue Generation

  • Monitor sales pipelines and ensure timely follow-up on leads and prospects
  • Implement business development strategies aligned with company goals.
  • Develop tailored proposals and packages suited to institutional needs.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure seamless service delivery to partner institutions.

Reporting & Compliance

  • Track and report on business development activities, sales performance and revenue growth.
  • Prepare periodic reports on performance challenges and opportunities in the institutional markets.
  • Ensure all engagements comply with company policies, ethical standards and institutional protocols.
  • Maintain accurate client and sales records using the company tools.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation.

 Who We’re Looking For

Academic & Professional Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in  Banking & Insurance, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related discipline.
  • Professional insurance qualification such as ACII, CII, Diploma in Insurance

 Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience
