Job Description
Job title: Building and Facilities Technician-Electrical
Work Location: Hariss International Limited – Kampala, Uganda
Division / Department: Maintenance
Reports to: Team Leader Building and Facilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design and install electrical circuits and panels for MV and LV up to 33kv.
- Wiring and installing power to new machines, and facilities as per drawings provided.
- Checking and testing faulty motors at the factory.
- Releasing power where need be around the company.
- Changing faulty lights, breakers and conductors for the company.
- Maintaining all power points in the factory, panels and circuits.
- Installing cable trays where need be.
- Working with the IT team and any other department under the category of technical if there is an electrical break down.
- Repairing lights installed on machines like the QA inspection lights.
- Repairing or changing damaged accessories.
- Building new power supplies at the factory.
- Inspecting old installations and solving faults if found.
- Providing power to new AC’s being installed in the factory.
- Testing and repairing electrical appliances.
- Any other duties as per management request.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- A minimum of a Diploma in Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role in a busy environment.
Key Requirements:
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
- Electrical permit of class C or above is an added advantage.
- Ability to use software (MS word, excel, AutoCAD, ETAP ) is an added advantage
