Air Knife Dehydration Technician

Job Detail

Operate surface water blowers and air knife moisture removal beds to eliminate surface moisture from products prior to the frying stage.
Maintain the mechanical reliability, calibration, and operational readiness of processing equipment to prevent downtime, waste, and quality non compliance.

Operate surface water blowers and air knife dehydration beds according to processing specifications before products enter the frying stage.
Adjust air knife air pressure, conveyor belt speeds, and related process controls to achieve specified moisture removal rates.
Inspect, diagnose, calibrate, maintain, and repair dehydration systems and supporting mechanical components using equipment manuals and fault indications.
Execute safe energy isolation, lockout procedures, and pressure release protocols prior to performing any intrusive maintenance.
Verify machine guards, safety interlocks, alignment, lubrication, and operating settings before handing machinery back to processing operations.
Execute scheduled preventive and predictive maintenance checks, recording observations on wear, vibration, leakage, and equipment performance.
Maintain complete and traceable documentation, including machine logs, calibration sheets, inspection checklists, and shift reports.
Comply with all occupational health, food hygiene, environmental safety, and quality standards during equipment operation and maintenance.

Bachelor’s Degree, Higher Diploma, Ordinary Diploma, or National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, Electronics, Automation and Control, Instrumentation, Plant Maintenance, Automotive Engineering, Chemical Technology, Water Engineering, Civil or Building Engineering, Marine Engineering, or a related engineering field.
National Certificate, Craft Certificate, trade certificate, or recognized apprenticeship/TVET qualification (such as UBTEB) in Mechanical Fitting, Welding and Fabrication, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, Plumbing, or Electrical Installation.
Applicable statutory certifications or specialized trade credentials where relevant, including ERA installation permits, ERB/UPE registration, PLC certification, boiler certification, refrigeration permits, or manufacturer specific equipment training.
