Job Description
- Formulate plant wide quality policies and direct strategic quality priorities to ensure end to end food safety across all company facilities.
- Manage UNBS and ISO certifications while overseeing strict compliance with HACCP food safety standards.
- Provide executive governance, organizational leadership, and financial stewardship to protect quality standards and mitigate operational risks.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Formulate and execute plant wide quality policies, standards, and standard operating procedures across all production facilities.
- Manage UNBS and ISO certification processes and maintain total audit readiness across all manufacturing lines.
- Oversee HACCP food safety systems, hygiene mandates, and occupational safety controls to protect products and personnel.
- Translate organizational objectives into measurable quality priorities, capital allocation plans, and operational risk controls.
- Lead investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action implementations for defects, customer complaints, and process deviations.
- Oversee quality assurance budgets, capital expenditures, contracts, and resource utilization to eliminate avoidable waste and financial exposure.
- Establish clear accountability and governance frameworks for quality managers to ensure early reporting and resolution of operational issues.
- Coordinate quality initiatives cross functionally with production, maintenance, and supply chain teams to prevent operational bottlenecks.
- Maintain complete, traceable, and audited quality records, test results, logs, and compliance verification documents.

Education Qualifications & Experience
Education Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science and Technology, Industrial Chemistry, Biochemistry, Food Science, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Engineering, Business Administration, Commerce, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain Management, Marketing, Human Resource Management, or an equivalent relevant discipline.
- Master’s degree, MBA, MSc, MA, MEng, or postgraduate diploma in an enterprise leadership or specialized technical field.
- Professional certification in quality or safety, project management, or sector specific executive development, or equivalent foreign qualifications recognized in Uganda.
Experience
- 7+ years leading quality assurance in certified food/beverage processing plants.
