Job Description
- Manage baked snack conveyor ovens by regulating heat zones, exhaust airflow, and belt speeds to achieve targeted moisture content and product specifications.
- Deliver end to end operational accountability across oven start up, continuous production monitoring, product changeovers, sanitation, and controlled shutdowns.
- Protect food safety, product consistency, and workplace safety by maintaining strict operational parameters and accurate shift documentation.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate baked snack conveyor ovens and auxiliary equipment according to approved start up, operational, changeover, and shutdown procedures.
- Regulate multi zone temperatures, exhaust airflow, and conveyor belt speeds within authorized operating limits to maintain correct thermal profiles.
- Perform routine visual, dimensional, weight, temperature, and moisture checks on baked snacks to verify compliance with quality specifications.
- Segregate defective or off specification products promptly to prevent further processing, packing, or dispatch.
- Conduct thorough cleaning, sanitation, and allergen control changeovers between production runs, verifying complete removal of previous residues and materials.
- Record process parameters, test results, downtime, and operational checklists accurately and traceably in real time.
- Adhere strictly to food safety, occupational health and safety, hygiene regulations, equipment guards, and isolation procedures during line operation.
- Coordinate effectively with upstream preparation and downstream packaging teams to ensure smooth handovers and prevent operational delays.
- Escalate equipment breakdowns, safety risks, or quality deviations exceeding authorized adjustment limits immediately to technical specialists and supervisors.

Education Qualifications & Experience
Education Qualifications
- Ordinary Diploma or National Diploma in Food Processing, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Production Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Agricultural Engineering, or Applied Sciences
- National Certificate, Craft Certificate, Technical Trade Certificate, or relevant TVET training in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Food Processing, Production Technology, or Industrial Maintenance
- Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) or Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) with demonstrated literacy, numeracy, and mechanical aptitude
- Prior machine specific training on industrial baking ovens from an equipment manufacturer or recognized employer is acceptable supporting qualification
