Company Description
TMT Supermarket is a popular premium retail chain in Kampala, Uganda. It operates prominent, well-stocked branches in the upscale suburbs of the city, including its flagship location at the TMT Atrium on Old Kira Road in Bukoto (bordering Naguru) and an established branch on Tank Hill Road in Muyenga. Positioned as a comprehensive one-stop shopping destination, the supermarket caters to both local residents and the city’s large expatriate community.
The chain is highly regarded for its diverse product assortment, featuring fresh farm produce, a dedicated butcher counter, household essentials, and high-quality local staples. What sets it apart from typical local grocery outlets is its expansive selection of hard-to-find international items, such as global sauces, Swiss chocolates, goat’s milk, and an assortment of European wines. It also features a specialty bakery section that crafts international treats like fresh baklava and seasonal Italian panettone.
Beyond basic grocery retail, TMT Supermarket locations operate as comprehensive lifestyle complexes. For example, the Bukoto Atrium branch houses a pharmacy, a series of complementary retail shops, and a highly rated restaurant/cafe on the upper floor of the building. The properties are designed for maximum convenience, providing customers with broad accessibility features, tight security, and ample free parking spaces.
