Company Description

Masindi District is situated in the western part of Uganda within the Bunyoro sub-region. It is bordered by Buliisa District to the northwest, Hoima to the west, Kiryandongo to the northeast, and Nakasongola to the east. The district headquarters are located in Masindi town, which serves as the main administrative and commercial hub. Masindi is widely known for its vast agricultural potential, producing crops such as maize, tobacco, sugarcane, beans, cassava, and simsim. The district also hosts part of the renowned Murchison Falls National Park, which boosts tourism and conservation-related economic activity. Oil and gas developments within the greater Albertine region have further positioned Masindi as a strategic district in Uganda’s emerging petroleum economy.

Masindi District Local Government is responsible for the coordination and implementation of decentralized public services. Through its District Council, executive arm, and technical departments, it oversees planning and budgeting processes aimed at delivering services in education, health, agriculture, roads, water, community development, and environmental management. The Local Government works closely with sub-counties and town councils to ensure policies are translated into tangible improvements in livelihoods. It also mobilizes local revenue, supervises public institutions, and promotes sustainable socio-economic transformation within the district.

The Masindi District Service Commission is the statutory authority entrusted with managing human resource functions for the district public service. It recruits and appoints qualified personnel, confirms staff in service, handles promotions, and ensures disciplinary control in accordance with public service regulations. By safeguarding merit, transparency, and professionalism in staffing decisions, the Commission strengthens institutional capacity and supports effective service delivery across all departments of the District Local Government.
