Job Description

Job Title: Curriculum Specialist – ICT

Positions: 1
Responsible to: Manager ICT and Multimedia Services
Responsible for: Assistant Curriculum Specialist ICT
Salary Scale: CD5
Age Limit: 25 – 50 years
Terms of Service: Permanent


Job Purpose
  • To initiate, coordinate and edit curriculum and related materials developed by panels in the subject of specialty under the guidance and supervision of the Senior Specialist.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Initiate and develop ideas on curriculum reform.
  • Organise curriculum related workshops.
  • Develop and prepare ICT syllabi, Teacher’s Manuals, texts and other related curriculum materials.
  • Organise and conduct orientation courses for teachers.
  • Initiate and develop strategies for integrating ICT in the curriculum.
  • Write, coordinate and edit curriculum materials developed by panels before submission to senior specialist.
  • Promote ICT usage in the Education Sector.
  • Participate in the evaluation of curriculum and related materials.
  • Participate in curriculum related research geared towards innovations.
  • Undertake any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Personal Specifications

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Computer Science / Information Technology / Information Systems or any other ICT-related field from a recognized institution.
  • Either:
    • An Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Education with ICT as one of the core subjects
    • OR an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Education
    • OR an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science / Information Technology / Information Systems with a Post Graduate Diploma in Education from a recognised institution.
  • A qualification of at least three (3) months of training in Curriculum Design and Development is an added advantage.

Experience

  • At least four (4) years teaching experience, two of which he/she should have participated in curriculum design and development.
