 Applications forms/Public Service Commission form 3 (2008 Revised) in triplicate (original hand written and PSC Summary form one only) should be submitted to the Secretary, Moroto District Service Commission P.O BOX 4, MOROTO, to reach the Secretaries Office not later than Friday 18th January 2026 by 5:00 pm.
Application forms should bear the reference number of the post applied for and have Certified photocopies of academic documents, CVs, IDs and any other relevant documents as well as recent passport size photograph be attached to each form.
Those already in Government Service should route their applications through their respective Heads of Departments who must be informed of the closing date to avoid delays.

Details of Job Descriptions
Job Title: District Education Officer
Salary Scale: U1E
Reports To: Chief Administrative Officer
Responsible For: Deputy District Education Officer; Education Officers; Inspectors of Schools
Job Purpose
To plan, coordinate, and manage the provision of education services in the District in accordance with national policies, standards, and guidelines.
Key Outputs
- Education policies, plans, and programmes implemented;
- Technical guidance and support to schools and institutions provided;
- Education standards and quality assurance enforced;
- Inspection and supervision of schools carried out;
- Education sector work plans and budgets prepared and implemented;
- Teachers and education staff supervised and appraised;
- Education management information generated and submitted; and
- Community participation in education promoted.
Key Functions
- Planning, coordinating, and managing education services in the District;
- Interpreting and implementing education policies and guidelines;
- Inspecting and supervising schools and institutions;
- Providing technical advice and support to schools and stakeholders;
- Preparing and managing education sector work plans and budgets;
- Supervising and appraising education staff;
- Ensuring adherence to education standards and quality assurance; and
- Promoting community involvement in education programmes.
Person Specifications
(i) Qualifications
- Should hold an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Education from a recognised University or Institution;
- Should hold a Master’s Degree in Education or a related field; and
- Should be a registered teacher with the Ministry responsible for Education.
(ii) Experience
- A minimum of nine (9) years working experience in the education sector, three (3) of which should have been served at the level of Principal Education Officer in Government or an equivalent level of experience from a reputable organisation.
(iii) Competencies
- Policy management;
- Human resource management;
- Information Communication Technology;
- Accountability;
- Concern for quality and standards;
- Ethics and integrity;
- Leadership; and
- Time management.
