Applications to be submitted in Triplicate on PSC Form No.3 (2008 revised) & ESC Form No.3 (1998 Revised) for education positions, to the Secretary, Nakaseke District
Service Commission, Po Box 451, Luwero-Uganda not later than 2nd December 2026. The applications should be accompanied with 3 recent size photographs of the applicant and Photocopies of Certified Academic Certificates, a copy of your CV and Other Relevant Supporting Documents.

Job Title: Enrolled Nurse

Reports To: Nursing Officer
Responsible For: Nursing Assistant and Support Staff
1. Job Purpose
To provide quality nursing care and treatment to patients and participate in the implementation of public health interventions in the community in accordance with established nursing standards and professional guidelines.
2. Key Outputs
- Patients received, registered and prepared for diagnosis.
- Quality nursing care and treatment provided to patients.
- Accurate and up-to-date patient records maintained.
- Bedside nursing procedures carried out.
- Patients prepared for meals and assisted during serving.
- Clean, safe and healthy patient environment maintained.
- Nursing Assistants and support staff supervised and appraised.
- Patients and their attendants sensitized on basic healthcare practices.
- Daily nursing care service activity reports compiled and submitted.
3. Key Functions and Responsibilities
- Receiving, registering and preparing patients for diagnosis and treatment.
- Providing quality nursing care and treatment to patients in accordance with established nursing procedures and professional standards.
- Observing patients’ conditions, monitoring their progress and maintaining accurate and up-to-date nursing records.
- Participating in Doctors’ and Clinical Officers’ ward rounds and implementing relevant instructions within the scope of professional practice.
- Carrying out bedside nursing procedures as a member of the patient care team.
- Administering prescribed medication and treatments while observing appropriate nursing procedures and patient safety requirements.
- Preparing patients for meals and participating in serving them, while observing individual dietary requirements.
- Maintaining a clean, safe and healthy environment for patients to promote comfort and prevent infections.
- Supervising, guiding and appraising Nursing Assistants and support staff to ensure effective delivery of nursing services.
- Sensitizing patients and their attendants on basic healthcare practices, disease prevention, personal hygiene and adherence to treatment.
- Participating in the implementation of public health interventions and community health activities.
- Compiling and submitting daily nursing care service activity reports to the immediate supervisor.
- Maintaining proper handover of patient information and continuity of nursing care.
- Observing professional ethics, confidentiality and established standards of nursing practice.

A. Academic and Professional Qualifications
- Must possess an Enrolled Nursing Certificate from a recognized institution.
- Must be registered and licensed with the Nurses and Midwives Council.
