Job Description
- Maintain plant roofing, factory epoxy flooring, drainage channels, plumbing systems, and civil masonry structures to ensure structural reliability and hygiene.
- Execute end to end facilities upkeep and planned preventive maintenance to prevent avoidable operational risks, contamination, delays, and structural degradation.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair plant roofing, factory epoxy flooring touch ups, drainage channels, plumbing systems, and civil masonry structures.
- Inspect and diagnose facilities infrastructure and utility networks using layout drawings, manuals, condition checks, and physical measurements.
- Execute planned preventive inspections at scheduled frequencies, recording structural wear, vibration, leakage, and early failure warnings.
- Apply required safe work controls prior to intervention, including working at height precautions, confined space protocols, and energy isolations.
- Coordinate facility intervention windows with production teams to prevent contamination, operational delays, or safety hazards.
- Verify structural integrity, safety guards, and clean conditions before handing maintained areas back to operational departments.
- Maintain complete, legible, and traceable records of maintenance activities, inspection checklists, logs, and material consumption.
- Adhere to all occupational health and safety, food safety, hygiene, and environmental controls without trading safety rules for speed.
Skills
- Industrial plumbing, masonry, civil repair, and epoxy flooring touch up techniques
- Technical diagnostic capability using site drawings, physical measurements, and condition monitoring
- Safe work execution including working at height, confined space, and energy isolation procedures
- Preventive maintenance inspection, work sequencing, and accurate maintenance record keeping
- Cross functional communication and proactive hazard identification
Education Qualifications & Experience
Education Qualifications
- National Diploma, Ordinary Diploma, Higher Diploma, or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Building Engineering, Plumbing, Water Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Plant Maintenance, or related technical disciplines
- National Certificate, Craft Certificate, trade certificate, recognized TVET/UBTEB award, or completed apprenticeship in Civil/Building Engineering, Plumbing, Mechanical Fitting, Welding and Fabrication, or closely related technical trades
- Valid statutory or professional registrations, installation permits, or technical certifications where required by applicable Ugandan regulations

- 1+ year of work experience in building maintenance or construction.
