Job Description

Head Marketing and Communications

Number of Vacancies: One (1)
Department: Office of the Chief Executive Officer
Reports to: Deputy Chief Executive Officer – Finance and Administration

Job Purpose

Responsible for the development and implementation of NHCC’s Marketing and Communications strategies aimed at building the brand, driving demand for company products, and enhancing stakeholder relationships.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Marketing and Sales Growth

  • Develop marketing strategies for all product profiles (residential, commercial, and industrial).
  • Ensure approval and effective implementation of marketing strategies.
  • Drive achievement of targeted company revenues.

Brand Materials

  • Initiate, develop, and implement brand materials to support marketing activities.
  • Coordinate production of annual reports, corporate calendars, digital content, and marketing materials.
  • Lead branding and marketing campaigns across multiple channels to enhance company visibility.

Growth Strategies

  • Work with the Deputy Chief Executive Officer to develop, operationalize, and monitor revenue growth strategies.
  • Coordinate and manage market analysis, marketing, sales, and customer service activities.

Communications and Public Relations

  • Manage media relations and press releases.
  • Protect and enhance corporate reputation.
  • Lead crisis communication efforts when required.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build strong partnerships with government agencies, contractors, clients, investors, regulators, and other stakeholders.
  • Manage public relations activities for key partners.

Product and Service Awareness

  • Lead initiatives to increase awareness of company products and services.
  • Conduct product awareness sessions and quizzes for staff.
  • Promote a culture of cross-selling, marketing, and service excellence.

Reporting

  • Prepare and submit timely and accurate sales and marketing reports.
  • Report on commissions, customer feedback, and service performance to relevant stakeholders.

Cost Containment

  • Manage marketing, sales, and customer service expenditures within approved budgets.
  • Ensure alignment with strategic and annual marketing plans.

Team Leadership and Management

  • Lead recruitment, development, performance management, remuneration, rewards, career planning, coaching, mentoring, and employee engagement initiatives for direct reports.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, or another business-related field.
  • Full and valid membership of a nationally or internationally recognized professional marketing body (Mandatory).
  • Professional qualification in Project Planning and Management is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years’ experience in:
    • Communications strategy development
    • Customer relations
    • Performance marketing
    • Public and media relations

  • Ability to balance creative brand development with commercial objectives.
  • Solution-focused and adaptable mindset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • High levels of integrity and professionalism.
  • Knowledge of digital marketing tactics, including:
    • Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
    • Email Marketing
  • In-depth knowledge of the building industry and related products.
  • Proficiency in:
    • Microsoft Office Suite
    • HTML
    • Web editing and web design
    • WordPress
  • Graphic design skills in:

    • Adobe Photoshop
    • Microsoft Publisher
    • Adobe InDesign

    are desirable.
