Job Summary:
The Head of Marketing Digital is responsible for leading Next Com’s digital marketing strategy, driving audience growth, commercial digital solutions, and brand performance across all digital platforms. The role oversees digital marketing, social media, performance marketing, influencer and creator strategies, and client digital solutions while leading high-performing teams to deliver measurable business growth, engagement, and revenue.
Responsibilities:
1. Digital Strategy & Growth Leadership
* Develop and execute an enterprise-wide digital marketing and growth strategy.
* Define digital roadmaps for each media brand and key clients.
* Own digital KPIs across audience growth, engagement, and conversion.
2. Brand Page Growth & Platform Performance
* Drive sustained growth of brand pages across social platforms and digital properties.
* Oversee content performance, publishing calendars, and optimization.
* Ensure strong presence and positioning of Afro Mobile and other digital products.
3. Commercial Digital Support (Proposals & Pitches)
* Lead development of digital strategies for client proposals and pitches.
* Package Next com digital services (Digital Marketing, Influencer Marketing, Performance Marketing,
Community Management, Creator Hub).
* Present digital solutions to clients and partners.
4. Search, Performance & Website Growth
* Oversee Google ecosystem performance:
o SEO strategy
o Google Ads & Display campaigns
o Website traffic growth & optimization
* Ensure conversion-focused digital journeys.
5. Influencer & Creator Ecosystem Oversight
* Provide strategic direction to Influencer Manager.
* Ensure influencer programs drive measurable brand and business impact.
* Integrate influencer content into broader digital strategies.
6. On-Air Talent & Digital Personas
* Develop digital brand personas for on-air talent.
* Drive growth of personal brand pages for presenters and personalities.
* Align talent digital presence with station and platform brand strategies.
7. Team Leadership & Training
* Lead:
o Influencer Manager
o Digital Business Strategist(s) – commercial
o Brand Digital, Community Managers
* Design and implement continuous digital training programs.
* Build a high-performance, data-driven culture.
8. Governance, Reporting & Optimization
* Establish dashboards and reporting frameworks.
* Monitor performance and continuously optimize campaigns.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Mass Communication, Business Administration, Information Technology, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
• A postgraduate diploma or Master’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration (MBA), Digital Marketing, Communications, or Strategic Management is an added advantage.
• 8–10 year’s experience in digital marketing within media, agency, or platform environments.
• Proven leadership of multi-platform digital teams.
• Strong experience with performance marketing, SEO, and analytics.
· Membership of the Uganda Marketers Society.
