Job Description

Reporting to the Head- Enterprise Banking, the role holder will be responsible for developing, growing, retaining and managing a portfolio of Investment Clubs (ICs) to achieve the bank set targets.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Develop and maintain existing relationships through cross selling and deep selling so as to enhance profitability.
  • Develop an Investment Clubs segment strategy and oversee its implementation in order to grow the numbers.
  • Manage the Investment Clubs portfolio effectively to ensure performance through timely repayments, renewals and take proactive approach to deal with poorly performing facilities.
  • Provide leadership to the sales and branch based teams in the structuring of product offerings and prepositions to Investment Clubs prospects.
  • Participate in the design of best practices, skills sharing approaches, assist in product & process training as a resource person, to build capacity among branch & sales teams, and to ensure competencies in the network meet business requirements for Investment Clubs.
  • Initiate and build alliances/ associations/ partnerships (local and international) with organizations promoting women businesses and leverage on these to provide growth opportunities.
  • Relationship management with a focus on growing and retaining existing base through referrals.
  • Organize regional Investment Clubs trainings in house and with stakeholders.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree preferably in a Business related field.
  • At least five years’ experience in retail banking with a sales background with at least 3 years at a managerial level.
  • Computer knowledge especially working spread sheets, power point and word processor.
  • Good knowledge of the Bank’s products, systems and Personal Banking goals/objectives.
  • Industry and business acumen.
  • Good leadership, management and Business development skills to effectively plan and develop a cohesive sales strategic direction.
  • Excellent performance driving & teambuilding skills.
  • Strong networking and relationship management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and oral (Presentation and Public speaking skills).
  • Good /high level engagement & negotiation skills.
  • Good understanding of credit processes.
  • Excellent Customer service and interpersonal and skills and the ability to handle conflicts and client complaints.
  • Creative problem solving and good decision making skills.
  • A team player with ability to lead and work under minimum supervision.
  • Excellent organizational, planning and time management skills.
  • Great attention to detail.
  • Ability to keep abreast on changes in the market, customer requirements, competitors’ responses and ability to use information to identify new business opportunities and threats.
