Job Description

Wagagai Mining (U) Limited (WGG) is Uganda’s first fully automated large-scale gold mining enterprise, located in the eastern border district of Busia. Established as a major milestone for the country’s mineral sector, the company operates as a wholly-owned subsidiary of China’s Liaoning Hongda Enterprise Group. Officially commissioned by President Yoweri Museveni in August 2025, the massive project represents a strategic shift toward local mineral value addition and resource processing within East Africa
The industrial facility features highly advanced production infrastructure designed to handle the entire gold lifecycle from raw extraction to pure bullion output. The company operates a 5,000-tonne-per-day ore concentrator, a 350-tonne-per-day cyanidation plant, a fully automated underground mine, and an on-site gold smelting and refining workshop. Backed by modern automated mechanical engineering, the refinery is built to achieve 99.9% gold purity locally, yielding roughly 1.2 metric tonnes of refined gold annually from its extensive multi-million tonne ore reserves.

Mineral Processing Engineer (1 Position)

Job Summary: Responsible for process optimization and troubleshooting at the 5,000 Ud concentrator.

Key Duties: Monitor and optimize grinding, gravity, magnetic and flotation circuits, design process improvement schemes; manage reagent consumption, handle process anomalies; analyse mineral processing data; ensure production targets.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or above in mineral processing intermediate professional title; familiar with gravity/magnetic/otatio processes, process design and upgrade expenence; lame concentrator (5,000 Ud) experience preferred.
