Job Description
Applications are invited from suitably qualified Ugandans to fill vacant posts that exist in Kalaki District Local Government.
Parish Chief
Applications should be submitted in triplicate in Public Service Commission (PSC) form 3 Revised (2008) for non-teaching cadres, Education Service Commission (ESC) Form No. 3 (1998) revised for teaching cadres to the Secretary, District Service Commission, Kalaki P.O Box 722 Soroti to be received not later than 7th April, 2026 by 5:00pm.
Applicants should attach to each three application forms three (3) sets of certified photocopies of their academic transcripts and certificates by awarding institution or Ministry of Education and Sports and three (3) of their recent coloured passport size photographs, photocopies of the Certified Registration certificates, valid practicing license (certified copies), Uganda National Medical Examination Boards result slip for those in Health sector and for Education sector (teachers) to attach photocopies of the Online Registration Certificate by Ministry of Education and Sports and National Identify cards.
Applicants who are serving Officers in Government MUST route their applications through their Responsible Officers who should be informed of the closing date to avoid delay. They should also attach copies of letter(s) of appointment, confirmation and promotion if any where applicable.
Applications must bear the title of the post and the reference number of the post applied for.

Job Purpose
To carry out the overall administration and management of a Parish Unit in the Local Government.
Key Outputs

Performance reports on parish operations prepared.

National and Local Government policies and programmes implemented and council bye-laws enforced in the parish.

Parish community mobilized for developmental programmes.

Technical support to Parish Council provided.

Parish Council minutes recorded and resolutions disseminated to the relevant authorities.

Government and district projects and programmes implemented at the parish.

Law and order in the parish coordinated and maintained.
Key Functions
-
Preparing and compiling reports on parish operations for the attention of the Sub-County Chief.

Collecting and accounting for local revenue in the Parish.

Preparing work plans and budgets for the operations of the Parish.

Enforcing the implementation of national and local government policies, programmes, and council bye-laws in the Parish.

Undertaking mobilization of the Parish community for government development programmes and projects.
-
Providing technical support to the Parish Council on matters relating to lower local government governance.

Undertaking duties of secretariat to the Parish Council.

Managing and monitoring local government projects implemented in the Parish.

Coordinating the maintenance of law and order in the Parish.
Person Specifications
Qualifications
-
“A” Level Certificate from a recognized institution.
-
Certificate in Public Administration and Management or Social Work and Social Administration.
-
Post-basic training lasting not less than two (2) years in areas of education, environment, or public administration is an added advantage.
