Pest Control & Facilities Auditor

Job Detail

Deliver end to end pest management and facility integrity oversight to prevent product contamination and safeguard hygiene standards across the Nakasongola site.
Routinely inspect insect light traps, bait stations, rodent barriers, and structural sealing to maintain an effective barrier against pests.
Maintain audit ready facility compliance records and support internal and statutory quality inspections.

Inspect insect light traps, bait stations, rodent barriers, and facility sealing using approved inspection methods and scheduled frequencies.
Apply integrated pest management techniques and observe chemical application safety standards to eliminate pest hazards without risking food safety.
Identify, document, and contain deviations or physical gaps that permit pest ingress into processing, packaging, or storage areas.
Participate in root cause analyses for pest sightings or structural defects and track corrective actions through to verified resolution.
Maintain complete, traceable audit logs, inspection checklists, and chemical application records for internal and external regulatory review.
Coordinate with maintenance, sanitation, and production teams to repair structural sealing gaps and schedule pest proofing interventions.
Support UNBS, food safety, customer, and internal audit preparations by accurately presenting pest monitoring evidence and inspection logs.
Escalate acute pest activity, chemical exposure risks, or severe structural breaches immediately to designated supervisors.

Integrated Pest Management (IPM) application and monitoring
Chemical application safety and safe pesticide handling
Audit logging, inspection checklist maintenance, and record keeping
Root cause analysis and corrective action follow through
Attention to detail in facility sealing, exclusion barriers, and contamination risks

Ordinary Diploma, National Diploma, Higher Diploma, or Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health, Agriculture, or Public Health.
Acceptable related disciplines include Food Science and Technology, Food Processing Technology, Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Biological Sciences, Biotechnology, Laboratory Science, Quality Management, Packaging Technology, Applied Sciences, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related technical qualification.
Certifications in HACCP, ISO 9001, ISO 22000, internal auditing, or food safety are preferred.
