Job Description
Job Purpose
Provides support to the baker in preparing the baking products. Ensuring the bakery is kept clean and food items are stored under hygienic conditions.

Accountabilities
• Maintain a clean and safe workspace. This includes wiping down countertops in between tasks, sweeping, moping, emptying trash containers, and keeping all equipment clean such as blast freezer, ovens, slicer, mixers, baking racks, rolling bins, etc. Prepare equipment for baking.
• Measure, weigh flour and other ingredients, mixing, mounding, and baking according to recipes and SOP to produce quality bread.
• Keep daily production records, noting leftovers, product baked, weather, day of the week and date, and quantity of ingredients used in product.
• Check equipment (Oven, mixer, slicer, scales, divider, molder, blast freezer) to ensure that it meets operational, health and safety regulations and perform maintenance or cleaning, as necessary.
• Ensure that Slicing, packaging into bread bags, labelling, metal detection, bread weight check, packaging into crates/boxes, palletizing and blast freezing to be done on time.
• Comply with the application of the ISO9001 and ISO 22000 standards.
Education, Experience, Technical Skills
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Vocational training or baking coursework would be advantageous.
- State-approved food handling permit
- Advanced ability to multitask and follow instructions given by bakers
- Be SERV Safe certified and exhibit meticulous sanitation practices (Added Advantage)
Experience
• 1 year of professional bakery experience
Skills
• Have a positive and service-oriented attitude
• Knowledge of Basic Food Hygiene
• Must be comfortable in a fast paced, busy environment
• Be comfortable with volume production using commercial equipment
• Available to work a flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends & holidays
• A friendly, polite, and courteous nature
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
• Ability to work in a team
• Very good communication skills
• Excellent physical condition and stamina
