Resource Mobilisation and Partnership Lead

Organisation: Watoto Child Care Ministries
Department: Watoto Neighbourhood
Duty Station: Watoto Church, Downtown
Contract Type: Full-time Contract
Reports to: Head of Community Engagement and Partnership

Job Purpose

The Resource Mobilisation and Partnership Lead will connect vision to provision by building relationships that unlock resources, partnerships, and sustainable impact to advance the Ministry’s mission.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in the development and implementation of the Neighbourhood Resource Mobilisation Strategy.
  • Lead proposal development and grant management to diversify funding streams.
  • Identify, initiate, cultivate, and maintain long-term, trust-based relationships with key partners and stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain collateral packages for resource mobilisation and partnership engagement.
  • Manage partner Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) and agreements.
  • Develop and execute donor acquisition, retention, fundraising, and stewardship plans.
  • Coordinate communication, accountability, transparency, and reporting on resource utilization.
  • Design and execute fundraising campaigns, appeals, and events.
  • Train technical teams in proposal development, partner engagement, donor compliance, and reporting requirements.
  • Maintain an updated database of donor engagements, partner contributions, and reports.
  • Prepare periodic reports on funding, partnerships, and programme outcomes.
  • Monitor adherence to donor and organizational requirements.
  • Liaise with the Uganda Support Office and other departments to strengthen partnerships and align collaborative efforts.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Development Studies, Marketing, Communications, International Relations, or a related discipline.
  • A Master’s degree in a relevant field is an added advantage.
  • At least 8 years of experience in resource mobilisation, fundraising, partnerships, or business development within an NGO or Christian-based organization.
  • Experience developing successful proposals and tender bids for donors such as EU, DFID, USAID, Christian Foundations, and other institutional donors.
  • Demonstrated experience in building strategic partnerships and networking.
  • Proven experience in proposal writing and donor engagement.
  • Excellent proposal writing, storytelling, and presentation skills.
  • Strong strategic thinking with the ability to translate vision into funding opportunities.
  • Excellent negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and data management tools.
  • Awareness of the economic and donor landscape.
  • Strong computer skills, including presentation design, layout, graphic design, and documentation.
  • A committed, consistent, and discipled Christian who demonstrates spiritual maturity and active engagement in discipleship, aligned with Watoto values.
