Job Description

Namayingo District Service Commission on behalf of Busia District Local Government invites applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the under listed posts that exist in the service of Busia District Local Government and Busia Municipal Council.

Post: Enrolled Nurse
Salary Scale: U7 Med

Applications should be submitted in triplicate of PSC form 3 (Revised 2008) to the SECRETARY DISTRICT SERVICE COMMISSION, P.O BOX 124, BUSIA not later than 20th /7/2026.

Application forms are obtainable from the offices of secretaries District Service commission nationwide or Public Service Commission, farmer’s house, parliament Avenue-Kampala. Applicants should attach three(3) application forms, three sets of certified photocopies of their academic certificates, testimonials, transcripts and other relevant documents, plus three recent passport size photographs. Applications should bear the title of the post as well as reference number. Serving officers should route their applications through their responsible officer who should be informed of the closing date to avoid delays.

Job Title: Enrolled Nurse

  • Responsible For: Nursing Assistant and Support Staff
Job Purpose

To provide quality nursing services to patients and participate in implementing public health interventions in the community.

Key Outputs
  • Patients received, registered and prepared for diagnosis.
  • Quality nursing care and treatment provided to patients.
  • Proper records about the patients kept.
  • Bedside nursing procedures carried out.
  • Patients prepared for meals and served.
  • A clean and healthy environment maintained.
  • Staff supervised and appraised.
  • Patients and their attendants sensitized.
  • Daily nursing care service activity reports compiled and submitted.
Key Functions
  • Receive, register and prepare patients for diagnosis.
  • Provide quality nursing care and treatment to patients.
  • Observe and keep proper records about the patients.
  • Participate in Doctors’/Clinical Officers’ ward rounds.
  • Participate in bedside nursing procedures as a member of the caring team.
  • Prepare patients for meals and participate in serving them.
  • Maintain a clean and healthy environment for the patients.
  • Supervise and appraise Nursing Assistants and support staff.
  • Sensitize patients and their attendants about basic health care practices.
  • Compile and submit daily nursing care service activity reports.
Person Specifications

Qualifications

  • Must have an Enrolled Nursing Certificate from a recognized institution.
  • Must be registered and licensed with the Nurses and Midwives Council.

  • Time management.
