Job Description
Medical Clinical Officer
Salary Scale: PU11

Reports to: Senior Medical Officer
Responsible for: None

Job Purpose
To diagnose, treat and manage patients in the Institute Medical Unit.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Implements the Uganda Minimum Health Care Package within the Institute.
- Prepares and submits clinical health care reports to the Campus Dean.
- Participates in planning, budgeting, monitoring and evaluation of clinical work.
- Participates in continuous professional development activities.
- Provides health education to staff, students and patients.
- Participates in research activities and health data collection.
- Enforcing the professional and service codes of conduct and ethics.
Person Specifications
Qualifications
- Must have a Diploma in Clinical Medicine from a recognized Health Training Institution.
- Must be registered with the Allied Health Professionals Council and hold a valid practicing license.

- Equated certificates from the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) for all foreign academic qualifications.

- Copies of previous appointment letters.
- Serving officers must attach copies of their current payslips.

Additional Information
- Age Limit: Applicants should be 45 years or below at the time of application, except for the position of Dean of Students, where the maximum age is 55 years.
- Tenure of Appointment: Positions on Salary Scales PU1–PU3 are offered on a contract basis. Positions on Salary Scales PU4–PU15 are permanent, subject to successful completion of a six-month probationary period.
