Plant General Manager (Nakasongola)

Job Detail

Oversee total plant manufacturing, utility infrastructure, security, community engagement, and full P&L accountability in Nakasongola.
Translate strategic organizational objectives into practical operational plans, capital requirements, and reliable production schedules.
Provide executive leadership to maintain strict occupational safety, food hygiene, regulatory compliance, and cross functional performance.

Oversee total manufacturing operations, utility infrastructure, security, community relations, and overall plant P&L performance.
Translate business strategy into measurable daily, medium term, and long term operating plans and resource allocations.
Manage facility budgets, capital expenditures, forecasts, and contracts to safeguard financial stewardship and cost efficiency.
Establish governance frameworks and leadership accountability to identify, report, and mitigate operational, safety, and legal risks.
Direct organizational capability through structured workforce planning, talent development, and cross departmental coordination.
Enforce complete adherence to occupational safety, food safety, environmental standards, and emergency response procedures without compromise.
Lead continuous improvement and root cause analysis initiatives to minimize downtime, product defects, process waste, and avoidable costs.
Ensure accurate, traceable, and audit ready plant records, shift logs, incident investigations, and management reports are maintained.

High volume production oversight and full plant leadership
Financial stewardship, P&L administration, and budget control
Strategic judgement and leadership influence across multidisciplinary teams
Occupational safety, food safety, hygiene, and environmental compliance
Root cause analysis, operational problem solving, and quality continuous improvement
Digital literacy across enterprise systems, production interfaces, and technical records

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Food Technology, Business Administration, Commerce, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Food Science, or a related functional discipline
Master’s degree, MBA, MSc, MA, MEng, or relevant postgraduate diploma in executive leadership or specialized technical fields
Professional qualifications and certifications such as CPA, ACCA, CIPS, CIM, CIPD/HR, project management, quality, or safety credentials
Equivalent foreign academic qualifications recognized in Uganda, satisfying any mandatory professional registrations
