Company Description

The National Anti-Doping Organisation – Uganda (NADO-U) is an independent regulatory agency established under the National Sports Act, 2023. Headquartered at Plot 97/99, 3rd Street in the Industrial Area of Kampala, Uganda, the organization operates with a focused team of 11 to 50 employees. It holds a formal legislative mandate to safeguard the integrity of sports, protect athletes from exploitation, and enforce strict drug-free standards across all local and international competitions
The primary operational mission of the agency centers on implementing comprehensive anti-doping education and grassroots awareness campaigns. NADO-U systematically conducts outreach drives during schools’ championship tournaments—such as the Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) games—to build “Play True” clubs and host educational workshops for young talents, coaches, and sports managers. These targeted initiatives teach athletes about health risks, ethical conduct, and compliance rules to curb unintentional doping violations before they reach elite levels.
Operationally, the entity designs, delivers, and monitors risk-based, intelligence-led doping control programs. Its technical field teams deploy certified Testing Officers and Chaperones to perform sample collection, manage athlete notifications, and handle medical documentation during competitive matches and out-of-competition testing phases. Additionally, the body evaluates Therapeutic Use Exemptions (TUEs) for local competitors who require specialized medication for underlying chronic health conditions like diabetes or asthma
To maintain international compliance, NADO-U aligns its local regulatory frameworks with the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Code and international standards. The young institution maintains close technical collaborations with the National Council of Sports (NCS), the Uganda Olympic Committee (UOC), and various domestic sports federations to align country tracking systems with global policies. By actively advertising operational and training vacancies on regional channels like Great Uganda Jobs, the agency expands its national infrastructure to secure fair play and sustainable sports governance across East Africa.
