| Position | IT OFFICER – SECURITY, DIRECTORATE OF INFORMATION COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY |

| Reporting To | Principal ICT Security Administrator |
| Job Purpose | Maintain and control all aspects of network and system security (routers, firewalls, switches and operating systems as well as software related security) within the University environment. |
| Key Duties & Responsibilities | 1. Implement, network security policies and procedures;
2. Perform vulnerability scans and deploy security patches; 3. Review logs and alerts for anomalies and potential security breaches and implement mitigation measures; 4. Document and maintain inventory of security incidences and security status; 5. Perform security audits and compliance programs; 6. Manages security devices such as firewalls, IDS, VPN, and others; 7. Perform any other relevant duties assigned by the immediate advisor. |
| Required Qualifications | i. A Master’s Degree in Information Technology or Information Science/System or Library or Information Science or Master of Science in Statistics, Mathematics/Physics/Electrical/Electronics or Master of Science in Computer Science or Software Engineering or Information Systems and Technology and any other ICT related programs from recognized University/Institution;
ii. An Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or Information Science/System or Library or Information Science/ Bachelor of Science in Statistics, Mathematics/Physics/Electrical/Electronics or Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Software Engineering or Information Systems and Technology and any other ICT related programs from recognized University/Institution; iii. Specialized professional certification such as Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH). |
| Experience | A minimum of three (3) years working experience |
| Skills/Competences | 1. Knowledge in administering system security measures in a large ICT environment.
2. Pays attention to details; 3. Good interpersonal skills; 4. Output oriented work habits; 5. Good conceptual skills; 6. Initiative and innovation. |
| Tenure of Appointment | 4-year contract |
| Age Limit | APPLICANTS SHOULD NOT EXCEED FIFTY FIVE (55) YEARS OF AGE AT THE TIME OF APPLICATION. |
