Job Description
- Directs potato, gonja, and peanut snack manufacturing lines to optimize daily operational yields and maintain low waste ratios across the food division.
- Translates business strategy into practical operating plans, resource allocations, and capital investments while managing financial and commercial risks.
- Provides end to end operational governance, building leadership accountability and ensuring strict adherence to food safety, occupational hygiene, and quality standards.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Direct potato, gonja, and peanut snack manufacturing lines to achieve planned output, optimize daily yields, and maintain low waste ratios.
- Translate organizational strategy and commercial targets into realistic operating schedules, capital expenditure priorities, and capacity plans.
- Oversee operational budgets, forecasts, and utility and material usage to prevent avoidable losses, excess inventory, and unplanned downtime.
- Enforce occupational health, food safety, hygiene, environmental, and emergency standards across all lines without compromising safety for throughput.
- Supervise cross functional collaboration with maintenance, quality assurance, and supply chain departments to resolve coordination gaps and prevent delivery delays.
- Lead root cause investigations into recurring defects, process variations, and equipment stoppages to implement verified corrective actions.
- Establish performance accountability and management routines for production teams while sponsoring succession planning and technical capability development.
- Maintain complete, traceable, and accurate operational records, production logs, incident reports, and audit ready compliance documentation.

Education Qualifications & Experience
Education Qualifications
- Recognized Bachelor’s degree in Food Processing Technology, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Food Science, Engineering, Business Administration, Commerce, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain Management, Marketing, Human Resource Management, or a related discipline
- Relevant Master’s degree, MBA, MSc, MA, MEng, or postgraduate diploma
- Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, CIPS, CIM, CIPD, project management, quality, or safety credentials
- Equivalent foreign qualifications recognized in Uganda
Experience
- 6+ years managing industrial food production facilities.
