About the Organization

Andre Foods International (AFI) is a registered National Non-Governmental Organization (NNGO) in Uganda dedicated to supporting refugees and vulnerable communities. The organization implements programmes in food security, nutrition, health, WASH, environmental sustainability, gender protection, and research through strong partnerships with government institutions, local communities, international NGOs, and United Nations agencies.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Guide the design and implementation of community-wide sensitization campaigns through School Feeding Champions, including cultural leaders, religious leaders, and traditional gatekeepers, to promote school feeding as a shared community responsibility.
  • Provide technical guidance on Social and Behaviour Change (SBC) dialogues and Public Disclosure Barazas using Community Scorecards to strengthen transparency, accountability, and trust in contribution management and the Home-Grown School Feeding (HGSF) supply chain.
  • Facilitate gender-balanced School Management Committees (SMCs) and Procurement Committees, working towards at least 50% women’s representation, supported through leadership and financial literacy initiatives.
  • Mobilize parents, traditional leaders, and community members to contribute labour, seeds, and indigenous knowledge to school gardens, while facilitating Labour and Harvest Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) to ensure equitable participation and transparent harvest management.
  • Conduct periodic Community Conflict Audits to identify localized challenges, including land disputes and clan dynamics, and promote inclusive School Management Committee composition and School Feeding Champion selection free from elite capture.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Community Development, Education, Nutrition, or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • At least five (5) years of experience in community mobilization, stakeholder engagement, or programme implementation, preferably in school feeding, food security, or nutrition programmes.
  • Demonstrated skills in facilitation, training, stakeholder engagement, and partnership building.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory.
  • A valid riding permit is an added advantage.
