Nutrition Assistant – Job Summary

Organization: Andre Foods International (AFI)
Position: Nutrition Assistant
Reports To: Nutrition Officer
Duty Stations: Moroto, Amudat, and Kaabong
Number of Positions: 3
Contract Duration: Three (3) Months

About the Organization

Andre Foods International (AFI) is a registered National Non-Governmental Organization (NNGO) in Uganda committed to improving the lives of refugees and vulnerable communities. The organization implements programmes in food security, nutrition, health, WASH, environmental protection, gender, and research through partnerships with government, local communities, international NGOs, and United Nations agencies.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plan, establish, and supervise outreach sites to ensure efficient operations and smooth service delivery.
  • Coordinate all activities at treatment outreach sites to achieve effective programme implementation.
  • Build and maintain linkages with traders to facilitate Cash-Based Transfer (CBT) operations.
  • Prepare comprehensive site reports after reconciliation with WFP Identity Management (IDM) systems and the financial service provider.
  • Coordinate the delivery, distribution, and accountability of specialized nutritious food to beneficiaries.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of a Diploma in Community Nutrition, Social Work, or another relevant field.
  • At least one (1) year of proven experience in community-based food assistance, nutrition programming, or related programme implementation.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English is required.
  • Knowledge of any local Karamojong dialect is highly desirable.
